Dr. Jorge Allende has practiced in Ukiah since 2002. Board certified in both internal medicine and pediatrics, he has 19 years of inpatient (hospital) and 16 years of outpatient medicine experience. He completed his residency training at University of Michigan, yet still is a diehard Tarheel fan given his attending University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for undergraduate and medical schools. He enjoys the intensity and teamwork that hospitalist medicine provides. He is also the chairman of the UVMC Quality Council, medical director of the new Mendocino clinical integrated network, and former chief of staff at UVMC.

When not in the hospital, Dr. Allende enjoys time with his family, traditional large format and digital photography, cooking including self-taught open fire paella, engineering ziplines particularly a 250 foot one in his backyard, as well as cross country and downhill mountain biking.  His family recently took up surfing on a trip to Nosara, Costa Rica.
